Harry Colt's parkland routing through mature English oaks gives Crews Hill its character. There are no tricks here, every shot is in front of you. But the placement of the bunkers, the run-offs around the greens and the way the fairways tilt all reward thought as much as length.
From the white tees the course plays 6,372 yards to a par of 70. From the yellows, 6,042. Both are honest. Most players who walk off with their handicap intact tell us the same thing — they liked it more on the back nine.
